Drone stockpile measurement in a working yard
See an overhead map and a 3D stockpile model from the same materials yard. Learn how pile outlines and the reference surface affect a volume estimate.

What the project shows
Connect each estimate to the right pile
In a materials yard with several piles, a volume figure is useful only if everyone knows which material it describes and how the estimate was made. These two views show how a site map and a model can make that discussion clearer.

Planning a similar job
Agree on the pile, units, and base before comparing results.
A volume estimate compares the captured pile surface with a reference for the ground below. Where the base is covered, the chosen reference can materially change the result. For repeat work, agree on pile IDs, units and the approach to the base before comparing quantities. Tell us if piles touch, material moves during the day, or you have a prior measurement to work from.
